The church of Santa Maria Maggiore was built in the 8th century, rebuilt in the 13th century but the interior dates from the 17th century. Numerous frescoes cover the pillars and the walls.
The centerpiece is the Madonna attributed to Coppo di Marcovaldo. The polychrome and gilded wooden figure of the Virgin stands out in relief from a wooden panel decorated with paintings on a gold background.
